Senior Network Support Engineer Belgium 12 months contract
The Consultant shall provide:
Subject matter expert technical network support and system enhancement advice detailed proposals, requirements and plans for the clients ICT Infrastructure that would augment the current capabilities of, or enable new capabilities, to better support its infrastructure in combating emerging Information Security exploit, threat and vulnerability vectors.
The Consultant will be required to:
- Provide Network and firewall infrastructure solutions support and system administration on Cisco network & Checkpoint network devices within a LAN and WAN infrastructure.
- Assist in the provision of supporting Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Technologies including: MS Exchange, MS SQL, MS Cluster Services, MS WSUS and Nimsoft monitoring applications & storage systems. Including assist with disaster recovery support using Symantec Backup. Manage and support antivirus solutions including ePO 3.5-4.5, MIME sweepers and TREND scanmail for Exchange.
- Possess good knowledge of configuration, management and troubleshooting of firewalls and virtual private networks * Very good experience in administration of Linux operating systems, in particular Red Hat Enterprise
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the use of Network Protocol Analysis tools, in particular Wireshark and TCPDump * Provide OS infrastructure solutions support and system administration on Microsoft 2003 / 2008 / XP / 7 Enterprise infrastructure.
- Provide expert knowledge in supporting Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Technologies including: MS Exchange, MS SQL, MS Cluster Services, MS WSUS, MS SharePoint and IIS.
- Provide disaster recovery support using Symantec Backup and CommVault.
- Provide support and implementation of virtualization technologies including VM ESX platforms and associated peripheral SAN storage technologies. In addition provide support in virtualisation hardware equipment including Blade chassis, switching fabrics and FC/ISCSI connection topologies.
- Support of the SSL remote access solution based on Bluecoat, Vasco, Safeboot and RSA technologies.
- Possess a good understanding of the deployment, configuration and maintenance of Network appliances and associated management software
- Excellent communication skill including ability to liaise and instruct both technical and non-technical staff at remote sites
- Pro-actively manage, support and perform high level complex tasks associated with the efficient and effective operation of various operating systems on multiple hardware platforms.
- Undertake complex tasks including the implementation of relevant processes and procedures to provide responsive information technology support services to meet the clients requirements.
- Provide high level specialist consultative advice through research and analysis to deliver new technologies, including providing strategic technical advice and support to projects that have an information enabling component.
- Maintain and undertake system technical documentation appropriate for various audiences including technical staff, business managers, and end users on existing IT infrastructure.
- Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant agreement and in accordance with the skills, competence and training of the occupant.
- Support ongoing improvement in the operations of the clients infrastructure through the business process analysis, particularly in relation to Network Server technology.

Essential Qualifications
The incumbent shall have appropriate vocational and academic qualifications or professional certifications coupled with at least 2 years functional related experience or at least 3 years functional experience with qualification in the pre-dominate technologies such as Microsoft windows, Cisco, Linux, Unix and Checkpoint.
- The Contractor shall have at least 5 year of demonstrable support of complex system & network infrastructure.
- A minimum of 2 years experience supporting and configuring firewall devices, with preference to Checkpoint Firewall.
- Experience with central VPN installation, maintenance and troubleshooting with Juniper and checkpoint technologies.
- Hands-on demonstrable experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical infrastructure and system problems.
- Have the ability to use standard office automation tools (MS Office Professional).
- Experience in office communication and information systems.
- Organizational, coordination and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent report and guidance writing skills
- Due to the sensitivity of the work the Contractor may have to undertake, he/she must possess an unequivocal level of trust and discretion.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of Juniper intrusion detection systems and/or intrusion prevention systems.
- Qualifications in Cisco/Juniper/Microsoft networks (e.g. CCNA/JNCIAIDP/MCITP).
- Relevant security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM,SANS)
- Checkpoint Firewall qualifications (e.g. CCSA/CCSE)
- Qualifications and experience in Linux/MS Windows based infrastructure, systems and networks.
- The contractor should be knowledgeable in Malware infection techniques and protection technologies.
- Experience with Checkpoint firewall devices, infrastructure and systems.
