Urgent - Data Centre Solutions Architect - Solutions Architect - 6 Month Contract - UK
Montreal Associates urgently require a Data Centre Solutions Architect for a 6 month contract based in the UK.
Job spec below
You will be responsible for producing designs that enable the transformation of the current IT infrastructure to new utility services in line with the Clients Architectural standards and Corporate Strategic direction.
Provide high-quality specialist technical consultancy to internal clients when required, facilitating the delivery of solution designs involving teams from different technical and business disciplines.
Produce high level IT Infrastructure Solution Design documentation and costing, for architectural and financial approval, for transformed services with input and review from other areas.
Work with subject matter experts, network designers; build teams and operations support teams to deliver detailed design documentation for assigned design projects.
Required skills:
Ø General Technical Skills
Ø Experience in an IT infrastructure development &/ or operational environment.
Ø Experience in analysing business & technical requirements for IT Infrastructure.
Ø Experience producing high-level & detailed IT design documentation including infrastructure, costing & data flows.
Technical Skills
Ø Unix/ Linux system operation, administration, interdependencies and design
Ø Windows system operation, administration, interdependencies and design.
Ø HP Blade Infrastructure
Ø Backup and Storage system operation, administration, interdependencies and design and familiarity with latest storage technologies (NAS, SAN, iSCSI, Snapshots, Replication etc)
Ø Security Tools and concepts (such as hardening of Unix/ Linux, Windows and Database server implementations, encryption, Identity and Access Management, logging and procedural controls), their operation, administration, interdependencies and design
Ø Enterprise Infrastructure tools (e.g. backup, monitoring, LDAP and configuration management) their operation, administration, interdependencies and design
Ø Application architecture concepts such as three-tier, client/ server, SOA and middleware.
Ø Remote desktop/ application delivery mechanisms (Citrix, VDI, Windows Terminal Services)
Ø TCP/ IP networking, design and configuration
Ø Firewall operation and firewall rule specification
Ø Layer 5/ 7 web-server load-balancer operation and configuration principles (SSL, sticky sessions, persistence, redirection, cookies, etc)
Ø IP routing principles and protocols
